Anton PAAR Oscillating U-tube method: a hollow U-shaped tube is electromagnetically forced into harmonic oscillation. The period of oscillation is dependent on the density of the sample in the tube. Therefore, by measuring the period of oscillation, the density or density related values are automatically calculated.

For the in-house determination of the density a digital densitometer is used, which operates according to the principles of the Anton PAAR oscillating U-tube method.

An average relative density was found to be 0.8689. This result is the average of 38 measurments recorded in a period from 09/03/2011 until 25/09/2015.

The results from the two renowned reference handbooks are a density of 0.868 g/mL and a relative density of 0.868.

The information obtained from the renowned handbooks is in line with the relative density found during in-house densitometer experiments. The relative density of the substance is found to be 0.868.
