Description of key information

Appearance :

On the basis of physical observation and using the sense of smell, Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6-anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl] amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate was observed to be a solid yellowish powder.

Melting point :

Based on prediction done using MPBPVP v1.43,the melting point of Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6-anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino] stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate was estimated to be 349.84 Deg C.

Boiling Point :

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which melts above 300°C .Based on prediction done using MPBPVP v1.43,the melting point of Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6 -anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino] stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate was estimated to be 349.84 Deg C.

Density :

Based on prediction done using ACD/I-Lab 2.0,the density of Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6-anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino] stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate was estimated to be 1.598 g/cm3.

Particle size distribution :

The particle size distribution of Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6 -anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'- disulphonate was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was determined to be in the range of 150 micron to 53 micron.

Vapour pressure :

The study does not need to be conducted because the melting point is above 300°C .Based on prediction done using MPBPVP v1.43,the melting point of Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6 -anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino] stilbene-2,2'- disulphonate was estimated to be 349.84 Deg C.

Partition coefficient :

Based on the available data from modeling database using the KOWWIN V1.68 program, the partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substance Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6 -anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate was estimated to be 0.9539. On the basis of this estimated value, the substance Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6 -anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate can be considered to be hydrophilic in nature.

Water solubility :

The water solubility determination of test substance Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6-anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'- disulphonate was done as per the shake flask method. The solubility was determine to be 60000 mg/L at 98 Deg C. Thus the chemical is considered to be very soluble in water

Surface tension :

Based on the data from ACD labs, surface tension for Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6-anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene- 2,2'-disulphonate was predicted to be 0.107 N/m.

Flash point :

Flash point of Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6-anilino-4-[bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate is calculated at 1 atm. Pressure to be 1284.01 Deg C.

Auto flammability :

Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6-anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C pressure of 966 hPa. This indicates that  Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6 -anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate is not auto-flammable.

Flammability :

Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6-anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6 -anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus Dipotassium 4,4'-bis[6 -anilino-4 -[bis(2 -hydroxyethyl)amino-1,3,5 -triazin-2 -yl]amino]stilbene-2,2'-disulphonate was considered non-flammable for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness :

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance contains chemical groups associated with explosive properties which include oxygen, but the calculated oxygen balance is less than - 200.

Oxidizing properties :

The study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.
