Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2010-03-22
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Determination has been run according to standardized method but without GLP compliance.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Key result
Test procedure:
ignition time on contact with air
Remarks:
Ignition on contact with air refers to either Pyrophoric solids or Pyrophoric liquids depending on physical state (migrated information).
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
corresponding to 'no' in migrated source record.

no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
corresponding to 'no' in migrated source record.

In the screening test the gas flame was applied for 2 minutes to one end of the substance

train, but no ignition and no propagation of combustion occurred. Only melting took place of

that part of the substance that was exposed to the flame. This means that the substance is

not considered as highly flammable and that no further testing is required.

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
The test substance did not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smoldering, which means that it is not considered as highly flammable and that no further testing is required.

Description of key information

The test substance did not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smoldering, which means that it is not considered as highly flammable and that no further testing is required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
