Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

The photomaximization test in humans did not lead to any photoallergic reaction: none of the 25 subjects showed a positive reaction. Thus, the substance can be classified as not sensitising.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
One reliable result regarding sensitisation in humans is available (Kaidbey, 1980). A photomaximization test was performed applying the test compound epicutaneous occlusively and exposing the site to 3 minimal erythema doses (MED) of UV-radiation, a sequence repeated for a total of 6 UV-exposures. The 25 subjects were challenged 10 to 14 days after the last UV-exposure, none of them showing a positive reaction.
