Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information: Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation for at
least 48 hours after the accident.
Inhalation: Take the person out to fresh air, rest and seek for medical attention.
Contact with skin: Remove contaminated clothes. Wash skin with soap and water and seek for medical attention.
Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water, keeping eyelids open for several minutes. Seek for medical attention.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth and drink a lot of water. Seek for medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powder or water spray.
During heating or in case of fire poisonous gases are produced.
Sulfur oxide (SOx)
Ammonia (NH3)
Nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Protective equipment: Mouth respiratory protective device.
Additional information Cool endangered receptacles with water spray.
Accidental release measures
Spills should be contained. Use personal protection P2 filter respirator.
Measures for cleaning/collecting: Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust).
Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles.
Handling and storage
Substance is not handled nor storaged. It is an onsite intermediate substance in a close system.
Information for safe handling: keep away from sources of ignition.
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles.
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Do not store together with acids.

Exposure controls / personal protection
This intermediate is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with the ECHA REACH Guidance on Intermediates and in accordance
with REACH regulation Article17(3) for on site isolated intermediates. Site documentation to demonstrate safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management systems is available in the Manufacturing site.
Inhalation: Local exhaust ventilation. If vapors/mists are generated use breathing protection.
Skin: In case of handling use gloves of butyl rubber, neoprene, natural rubber or polyvinyl
chloride.
Eyes: use suitable goggles in case of handling (Chemical Splash Goggles).
Stability and reactivity
Dangerous reactions: Contact with acids releases toxic gases.
Hazardous decomposition products: Sulfide acid
Disposal considerations
Onsite isolated substance in closed system.
Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage
system.
