Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance is considered to fulfil the P and might fulfil the vP criterion and B criterion as it was observed to be "not readily biodegradable" under the test conditions (0% biodegradation within 28 days) and has a mean log Kow of 5.3 (measured values 5.0 to 5.6). There is evidence that the substance might not be very bioaccumulative. The molecular weight of the substance is 886.17 g/mol and the branched structure is estimated to be larger than 1.7 nm. According to the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Version 1.1 November 2012, Chapter R.11, page 29 a molecular weight higher than 700 g/Mol and an average maximum diameter >1.7 nm are indicators that the BCF is below 5000 L/kg. Furthermore the T criterion is not fulfilled thus the substance is considered to be neither PBT nor vPvB.
