Description of key information

There is no long-term toxicity to invertebrates data for DMEA. Nevertheless the registrants consider that a read-across approach with triethylamine (TEA - CAS 121 -44 -8) makes sense for addressing this endpoint. This assumption is supported by the similarity between the chemical structures. Based on the acute ecotoxicity package available for the 2 substances, it can be noticed that the ecotoxicity profiles are similar. Therefore available long-term toxicity to invertebrates data for TEA are used for DMEA as a read-across.
