Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The study on "Toxicity to terrestrial plants" does not need to be performed as sufficient additional information is available. The test item is only used in roofing products. In these products MCPP-P 2-EHE is embedded in a polymer matrix in bitumen sheets at a concentration of 0.6%. Due to this low use concentration combined with the inclusion in the matrix, no exposure is expected. This conclusion is confirmed by results of a standard soil leaching study performed with MCPP-P 2-EHE and MCPP-P acid. After a period of 2 years, the recovered amounts of the ester in this standard leaching study was only in the negligible range of 0.03 to 0.16 μg/L (0.014 - 0.064 %). As soil can generally be considered as more permeable than a polymer bitumen sheet matrix and even with this soil matrix leaching is negligible, therefore, no exposure to soil and terrestrial plants can be expected by use of roofing products with MCPP-P 2-EHE embedded in the polymer matrix.
