Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate is readily biodegradable (100% mineralisation, CO2 evolution). It has a log Kow of 1.35 and therefore a low potential to sorb to particulate mater (sludge, soil or sediment) or to bioaccumulate in biota.

EEP is water soluble and has a moderate vapour pressure. These properties result in a low potential to volatilize from water to air.

When released to waste water significant mineralisation will occur. Emissions to air and binding to sludge will be minor. Ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate that reaches surface water will also be mineralised.

When released to air, the material will remain in air, with rapid dissipation occurring through advection and photochemical reaction.

When released to soil, the material will be primarily dissolved in soil pore water (groundwater), and will be rapidly be mineralised.
