Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Batch equilibrium or other method

Analytical monitoring:
yes
Details on sampling:
Sediment cores were collected from lakes in Sweden. Water samples were taken at 0.5 m in the thermoclines and 1.5 m above the sediment. The sediment cores were sliced into 1 to 3cm sections and the pore water was separated by centrifugation. The solid phase was dried, homogenised and leached with concentrated nitric acid.
Computational methods:
Kp (L/kg dry weight) = Bi concentration in sediment (mg Bi/kg dry weight) / Bi concentration in water (mg Bi/L)
