Description of key information

The EC50 (48 h) was determined to be 14.1 mg/L Geranyl acetate, the main component of the reaction mass.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study on the toxicity to aquatic invertebrates is not available for this reaction mass. However, there is one study on the acute toxicity of Geranyl acetate on Daphnia magna, which is on of the main components. It was tested in a static test system according to EU Method C.2 (Acute Toxicity for Daphnia).

The EC50 (48 h) was determined to be 14.1 mg/L Geranyl acetate (geometric mean (EC0/EC100) of arithmetic mean of analytical values).

Furthermore, there is one study for the second main component neryal acetate on the toxicity to aquatic invertebrates according to directive 92/69/EE C.1 revealing a acute toxicity of > 16.9 mg/L (EC50 after 48h).
