Additional information

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the density study does not need to be conducted as the substance is a gas.

However, the density of the submission substance has been estimated by calculation based on its molecular weight and the Ideal Gas Law.

At 20°C and 1013 hPa, the volume of 1 mole of an Ideal Gas is: nRT / P = 0.0241 m3

where:

n = number of mole (n = 1 mole)

R = gas constant (8.314 J/K/mol)

T = temperature (293.15 K)

P = pressure (101,300 Pa)

The molecular weight of trimethylsilane is 74.2 g/mol.

Therefore, the calculated density of trimethylsilane at 20°C is 74.2 / 0.0241 = 3.08 kg/m3

At 25°C the calculated density for the submission substance is 3.03 kg/m3
