A GLP-compliant OECD 203 guideline test was available the 96-h LC50 value of 1-chloro, 1,1-difluoroethane in Poecilia reticulata is 220 mg/l (Duphar 1990a).

The acute toxicity of1-chloro, 1,1-difluoroethanewas evaluated with Poecilia reticulata in a study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 203 and GLP requirements.
The fish were exposed to nominal test concentrations between 30 and 300 mg/L under semi-static conditions during 96 hours. The mean measured concentrations were maintained between 80 and 120 % of nominal. LC50-96 h was estimated using measured concentrations as being equal to 220 mg/L.
Mortality in control, temperatures, pH range and dissolved oxygen concentration were reported. Some validity criteria were not fulfilled nevertheless the study is considered as valid because this deviations didn’t impact the validity of the results.As a consequence, 1-Chloro, 1,1-difluoroethane is of low toxicity to fish.Information on Registered Substances comes from registration dossiers which have been assigned a registration number.
