Justifications and discussions

Category definition:
Soluble strontium substances
Category order description:
Soluble strontium substances
Category rationale:
In a category approach, read-across is used among a number of structurally similar substances, i.e. soluble strontium substances. The structural similarity is based on the fact that the common (eco)toxicological moiety of concern is the strontium ion. Within this category, as a result of the structural similarity, the specified toxicological and ecotoxicological properties are similar.

The similarity rules specified in Annex XI, Section 1.5 of the REACH Regulation in the REACH Guidance on IR & CSA, Chapter R.6 of apply and the category ”soluble strontium substances” is formed.
