Description of key information
CAS 756-13-8 did not cause cardiac sensitization when tested up to a concentration of 15.4%
Additional information
Cardiac Sensitization potential of CAS 756-13-8 was evaluated in beagle dogs with the addition of adrenaline up to an air concentration of 15.4%. The test was conducted according to the methods described by Reinhardt in the Journal of Occupational Medicine, 1971, 1972. Animals were exposed to nominal concentrations of 1.0, 2.0, 5.0, 10,0 and 15%. At all doses, clinical signs such as agitation, tremors, rapid breathing and hunched posture were seen. At 15%, the clinical signs were severe enough that the second dose of adrenaline was not possible and exposure was discontinued. No signs of cardiac sensitization, which was determined by EKG monitoring, was seen in this test. The material is not a cardiac sensitizer up to 15.4%.
