Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the physicochemical properties of the substance indicate that it can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption

Description of key information

In accordance with the column 2 adaptation of the information requirements for Annex VIII of REACH, the adsorption/ desorption screening study does not need to be conducted if: - based on physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. has a low octanol water partition coefficient), or - the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly. The partition coefficient of the substance was assessed in accordance with EU Method A8 and determined as logPow >3.42. Furthermore, the substance was determined to be inherently biodegradable after attaining 49 % degradation after 28 days calculated from oxygen consumption values in modified OECD guideline 301 F study. As pre-exposed inoculum was used in this test, the criteria for ready biodegradability given in the OECD Guidelines do not apply, however it is considered that the test material has exhibited the potential for significant degradation to occur in the environment. Therefore, the adsorption/ desoprtion screening has not been conducted as it is not considered to be scientifically necessary.
