Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
December 01, 2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: ASTM D 1766-90
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
ca. 44 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
ca. 7.88
Details on results:
The solubility of the test substance in water at 25 ºC, expressed as g/l, was calculated by applying the following formula:
S (g/l) = (B – A)*1000/25 = C/0.025
where:
A: tare of the volumetric flask
B: lord weight of the volumetric flask
C: mass of solute initially contained in 25 cm3 of solution

The precision of the method requires that the two net masses of solute, obtained from the test performed in duplicate, should not differ more than 10 % of each other. If agreement within 10 % is obtained, the average mass of solute should be used to determine the solubility of the product in water at 25 °C.

The difference between the net masses of solute, obtained from the test performed in duplicate, is equal to 0.00009 g, which value represents about 8.5 % of the measured masses. The tests showed a precision lower than the limit imposed by the method and can be considered as valid.

The value of the solubility of the test substance in water at 25 °C is given by the average net mass of the solute, which resulted to be equal to 0.001105 g.

Conclusions:
The water solubility of the test substance is 44 mg/l at 25°C.
