Description of key information

The subdstance is flammable upon ignition.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

Flammability derived from flash point.

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-heating as the substance is a liquid.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008:

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the sixth time in Regulation (EC) No 605/2014., the substance is not considered to be classified as flammable in contact with water, pyrophoric or self heating substance.

The following classification criteria are met: R10 (flammable) of EU Directive 67/548/EEC: flash point >= 21 °C and <= 55 °C; Flammable liquids, Category 3 (flammable liquids and vapour) of EU CLP: flash point >= 23 °C and <= 60 °C
