Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

regarding the aquatic toxicity of the substance short term data on fish, invertebrates and algae are available. Furthermore a daphnia reproduction test was performed to determine a chronic no effect concentration.

The acute toxicity to fish was determined according to OECD 203 and EEC method C.1. Fish were exposed for 96 hours to a test substance concentration of 1000 mg/L under semi-static conditions; no effects were observed. There were no mortalities or other marked reactions to exposure exhibited by 20 fish exposed to a test concentration of 1000 mg/l for 96 hours.

A short term toxicity test with Daphnia magna according to OECD 202 was performed by Hüls Infracor GmbH. Test organisms were exposed to a test substance concentration of 1000 mg/L under static conditions. The limit test showed no effects on the invertebrates.

A daphnia reproduction test was performed according to OECD TGD 202 Part 2 (1984) by Inveresk Research International. The daphnids were exposed to a maximum concentration of 200 mg/L nominal (196 mg/L measured) under semistatic conditions for 22 days. The influence of the test substance on the number of offsprings was evaluated. There was no significant difference between the mean number of offspring per producing Daphnia in the test and the control tanks at day 14 and 22. The NOEC for Daphnia reproduction under test conditions is concluded to be 196 ppm (measured mean value).

The short term toxicity of Vestagon HA 320 on algae was determined by Hüls Infracor GmbH according to OECD 201 under static conditions. Aquatic algae were exposed to a limit concentration of 1000 mg/L for 72 hours. The influence of the test substance on the growth rate was evaluated. Up to a substance concentration of 1000 mg/L no effects on algae could be observed.

The bacteriotoxicity of Vestagon EP-HA 320 was determined in the Pseudomonas putida cell multiplication inhibition test according to DIN EN ISO 10712 by Hüls Infracor GmbH. Bacteria were exposed to test substance concnetrations ranging from 0.1 to 10,000 mg/L for 17 hours and the influence of the test substance on bacterial growth was determined by light absorption. The test substance did not inhibit the baterial growth of Pseudomonas putida up to a concentration of 10,000 mg/l.
