Description of key information

The flash point of the substance was determined according to the guidelines 440/2008/EC A.9, DIN EN ISO 3679 (2004) and EPA OCSPP 830.6315 (1996).

The result was 31.5 °C at 1013 hPa (corrected and rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5 °C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
31.5 °C

Additional information

Based on the results the test item is classified as follows:

UN Transport Regulation: As the test item has a boiling point of 153.2 °C (see Endpoint "boiling point") and a measured flash point of 31.5 °C (≥ 23 and ≤ 60 °C), it has to be classified in class 3 as flammable liquid of Packaging Group III.

GHS (CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008 Annex 1: 2.6): As the test item has a measured flash point of 31.5 °C (≥ 23 and ≤ 60 °C), it has to be classified asflammable liquid of category 3 and has to be marked with the warning“H226: flammable liquid and vapor”.

For information:

Directive 67/548/EEC: With a measured flash point of 31.5 °C (≥ 21 °C and ≤ 55 °C) the test item has to be classified as “Flammable” and to be marked with the R-Phrase “R10”.
