In accordance with section 2 of REACH (regulation(EC) No 1907/2006) Annex VII, skin sensitisation (required in Annex VII section 8.3) does not need to be conducted as the substance contain between 40 and 60% of free 3-aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexamine (IPDA) which has corrosive properties. However, 3 -aminomethyl-3,5,5 -trimethycyclohexamine (IPDA) is also known to be a skin sensitizer. Consequently, the UVCB substance it is highly likely that the UVCB substance will exhibit the same skin sensitization potential.

Based on the above stated assessment of the skin sensitisation potential regarding the main constituent (3 -aminomethyl-3,5,5 -trimethylcyclohexamine) of the UVCB substance, it needs to be classified as R43 (May cause sensitisation by skin contact) according to Council Directive 2001/59/EC (28th ATP of Directive 67/548/EEC) and Skin Sens. 1 (H317: may cause an allergic skin reaction) according CLP (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 Of The European Parliament And Of The Council) as implementation of UN-GHS in the EU.
