4,4’-Isopropylidenediphenol, oligomeric reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, reaction products with butan-1-ol and 3-aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylamine was found to be moderately toxic to fish (Cyprinus carpio) with a 96h LC50 greather than 10.0 mg/L in an OECD 203 guideline study.

The substance was also moderately toxic to Daphnia magna when tested according to OECD 202. The 48h LC50 value was determined to be greater than 10.0 mg/L.

The substance was reported to have toxicity to the green algae Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata, with a 72-h ErC50 value for growth rate of 2.1 mg/L (95% confidence interval ranging from 1.6 to 2.7 mg/L) and a 72h-ErC10 for growth of 1.2 mg/L in an OECD guideline study (Test No. 201).

The substance was reported to have low toxicity to microorganisms (activated sludge), with a 3h-EC50 value for growth inhibition of 380 mg/L (nominal) and no toxicity to waste water bacteria at or below a loading rate of 32 mg/L.
