Acute toxicity studies evaluating the toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms are available for three different trophic levels. All studies were performed according to international guidelines and GLP. Fish (Danio rerio) turned out to be the most sensitive species with a LC50 (96 h) of 35.4 mg/L (nominal) followed by algae (ErC50 (72 h) 130 mg/L/ErC10 (72 h) 61.4 mg/L) and aquatic invertebrates (EC50 (48 h) 284 mg/L). The test substance did not cause inhibition of biodegradation in a study according to OECD 301D with a filtrate of activated sludge . A NOEC (14 d) of ≥ 1.5 mg/L was derived. Significant inhibition of the subsequent degradation process in sewage treatment plants is not expected.
