Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No melting point of the test material was observed up to 400 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The melting point of the test material was investigated in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 102 and EU Method A.1 under GLP conditions using the capillary tube in a metal block method. The study was assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the criteria for assessing data quality set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

A small amount of the test material was heated in the electronically controlled sample block and the temperature in the sample block was displayed. The sample and its phase transition were observed visually during constant rate heating.

Following a preliminary test in which the test material was heated to 400 °C and no melting was observed, three replicates of the test material were heated from 310 to 400 °C in the main test at a rate of 0.5 °C/minute at atmospheric pressure. The test material did not melt but collapsed and became grey.

Under the conditions of this study, no melting point of the test material was observed up to 400 °C.
