Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
23 January - 22 April, 2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
The study was conducted according to an internationally recognised method, and under GLP. No deviation was reported. Test substance is adequately specified with isomer purity. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Not applicable
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
) UK GLP compliance programme (inspected on 05 February 2014 / signed on 07 October 2015)
Type of method:
flask method
Key result
Water solubility:
44.6 mg/L
Loading of aqueous phase:
500 mg/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
7.3 - 7.7
Details on results:
The detector calibration was found to be linear over the range 0 to 25 mg/L with a regression coefficient of 0.9999.
Quantitative recovery of test substance was achieved from fortified control samples (a mean recovery of 100% was achieved from samples fortified at the determined solubility level).
No significant interfering peaks were evident in blank control solutions.

Water solubility = 44.6 ± 0.7 mg/L, determined as the mean of all samples.

(Coefficient of variation = 1.6%)

Equilibrium was considered achieved from the first sampling time (at 24 hours), with no increasing tendency and a deviation less than 15%. This justified omission of the preequilibration step at 30 °C.
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): slightly soluble (0.1-100 mg/L)
Executive summary:

The water solubility of the test substance was measured under GLP according to OECD 105 / EU A6 guidelines, flask method. Three measurements were performed at 24, 48 and 72 h, with duplicate analysis. Equilibrium was found to be reached from 24 h, and the mean result was retained.

The water solubility of the test substance is 44.6 mg/L at 20 °C (pH 7.3 -7.7).

Description of key information

Considered as slightly soluble, with equilibrium reached from =< 24h. pH of saturated solution ca 7.5.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
44.6 mg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized OECD/EU method, is available. It is considered as a key study. The result is retained as key data.
