The trial determination showed an approximate decomposition point of 270 °C. When heating was continued in this preliminary test, the decomposed sample appeared to boil at approximately 300 ˚C.

 

The results of duplicate definitive boiling point determinations on test substance were as follows:

As the boiling tubes were heated at 1°C /minute, both samples were observed to darken above approximately 265 °C, indicating decomposition. In the case of decomposition, correction is considered superfluous as the determination of decomposition is slightly subjective and can only be regarded as an approximate value.

The boiling point of the test substance was measured under GLP according to OECD 103 / EU A2 guideline, Siwoloboff (capillary) method.

The results of duplicate definitive boiling point determinations on test substance were as follows:

As the boiling tubes were heated at 1°C/minute, both samples were observed to darken above approximately 265 °C, indicating decomposition.

 

The boiling temperature of test substance was not determinable, as the test substance decomposed at temperatures above approximately 265 °C, under normal atmospheric pressure, before boiling.

Description of key information

Decomposes (darkening) from ca 265°C before boiling. With prolonged heating, residue boils at ca 300°C.

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized OECD/EU method, is available. It is considered as a key study. As decomposition was observed, no key value will be retained.
