Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Principles of method if other than guideline:
In order to measure the particle size distribution, the technique of laser diffraction (laser light scattering) was used by measuring the intensity of light scattered as a laser beam passes through a dispersed particulate sample. This data is then analysed to calculate the particle size distribution based on the scattering pattern.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
Laser scattering/diffraction
Type of distribution:
volumetric distribution
Mass median aerodynamic diameter:
ca. 24.713 µm
Remarks on result:
other: after ultrasonic treatment (2 min)
Key result
Percentile:
D50
Mean:
24.713 µm
Remarks on result:
other: after ultrasonic treatment (2min)
Percentile:
D10
Mean:
11.101 µm
Remarks on result:
other: after ultrasonic treatment (2min)
Percentile:
D90
Mean:
52.492 µm
Remarks on result:
other: after ultrasonic treatment (2min)
Conclusions:
Mass Median Diameter value is 24.713 µm
Executive summary:
