Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Test procedure:
burning time (test type not further specified)
Remarks:
or specified in description of method (migrated information)
Burning time:
505 s
Remarks on result:
other: Combustion was propagated over 200mm in 8 minutes 25 seconds.

Any other information on results incl. tables

The ‘rope’ melted and ignited with an orange flame which produced grey smoke and soot and left black charred remains. Combustion was propagated over 200mm in 8 minutes 25 seconds.

The result of the preliminary screening test obviated the need to perform the main test.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: not highly flammable.
Conclusions:
The test item has been determined to be not highly flammable as it did not propagate combustion over the 200 mm of the preliminary screening test in under 4 minutes.
Executive summary:

Method

The flammability (solids) was determined by measuring the burning rate of test item prepared as a ‘rope’ of set dimensions. Testing was conducted using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A10 Flammability (Solids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.
