Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
23 February - 22 April, 2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Remarks:
Data comes from the description of the test substance in the report on other physico-chemical properties. No guideline is required according to REACh TGD. The substance is considered to be adequately characterised with isomer purity. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
no guideline required
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Visual observation
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
UK GLP compliance programme (inspected on 05 February 2014 / signed on 07 October 2015)
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Key result
Form:
other: slightly viscous
Colour:
pale yellow
Executive summary:

The substance was tested for physico-chemical properties. A description of the sample is provided in the report as a pale yellow, slightly viscous liquid.

Additional information

Experimental studies were conducted for the determination of physicochemical properties of the substance, including fully reliable description of the test sample. The Envigo study was considered as key, as providing a complete description; the Firmenich study is included as supporting for additional information.

Physical state is not consistent with the freezing point of 27°C (see 4.2) . However, as seeding was required to initiate crystallisation, the substance is anticipated to be stable in supercooling conditions.
