Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthoropods

The target lipid model (2015) and equilibrium partitioning model as described in the cited references were used to determine  sediment effect levels following an estimation of initial loading of the registered substance and its constituents in the substrate.  The Hydrocarbons C12-C15, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, <2% aromatics (D90), estimated 28-day LC50 value is >1000 mg/kg dw based on mortality and the EC10 value is >1000 mg/kg dw based on reproduction for the terrestrial species Eisenia fetida. The value was estimated using the Petrotox computer model.

Toxicity to terrestrial arthropods

The Hydrocarbons, C12-C15, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, <2% aromatics (D90) estimated 28-day LC50 value is >1000 mg/kg dw based on mortality and the EC10 value is >1000 mg/kg based on reproduction for the terrestrial arthropod species Folsomia candida.

Toxicity to terrestrial plants

The Hydrocarbons, C12-C15, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, <2% aromatics (D90) estimated 14-day LC50 values is >15,000 mg/kg based on seedling emergence and the 21-day EC10 value is 2,969 mg/kg dw based on growth for the terrestrial plant monocot species Avena sativa.

The Hydrocarbons, C12-C15, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, <2% aromatics (D90) estimated 14-day LC50 values is > 9,000mg/kg based on seedling emergence and the 21-day EC10 value is  1,897 mg/kg dw based on growth terrestrial plant dicot species Brassica rapa.
