Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data on the chronic toxicity of Fatty acids, C8-12, isopentylesterto aquatic invertebrates are not available. The assessment was therefore based on a study conducted with the structurally similar substances Isopropyl myristate (CAS 110-27-0) as part of a read across approach, which is in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5. Further justification is given within the overall summary chapter 6.1 and within the analogue justification in IUCLID section 13.

The chronic toxicity of the source substance Isopropyl myristrate (CAS 110-27-0) to Daphnia magna was tested according to OECD 202 (Scholz, 1995) at 1 and 100 mg/L (nominal). After prolonged stirring, the test substance was filtered through glass fibre filter. No effects on mortality or reproduction were detected at the tested substance loading rates. Therefore, the NOELR (reproduction, 21 d) was determined to be ≥ 100 mg/L.
Based on the available read across data (in accordance to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5) chronic toxicity ofFatty acids, C8-12, isopentylesterto aquatic invertebrates is not expected.
