Description of key information

Estimation Programs Interface (EPI) Suite (2016) prediction model was run to predict the half-life in water and sediment for the test compound D & C Orange No. 5 (CAS No. 596 -03 -2). Half-life period of D & C Orange No. 5 in water is estimated to be 60 days (1440 hrs.) while in sediment it is 541.6 days (13000 hrs). Based on these half-life values of D & C Orange No. 5, it is concluded that the chemical is persistent in both water and in sediment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
