Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The study does not need to be conducted as the substance has an extremely low octanol water partition coefficient (log Kow < 0).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
30

Additional information

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient (log Kow <3 and even <0) and the adsorption potential of this substance is related to this parameter. The substance carries sulphonate groups, and is thus anionic. Similar reactive dyes which also carry sulphonate groups, and also having an extremely low log Kow and a very high water solubility showed low Koc values (Koc < 30) in appropriate experiments, indicating that such dyes are very mobile and that the majority will stay in the water phase rather than adsorbing to soil or sludge. For the chemical safety assessment a Koc value of 30 is anticipated.
