Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

The test substance melted on application of the ignition source, but did not burn.

The chemical structures of the components do not contain functional groups which might lead to spontaneous ignition a short time after coming into contact with air at room temperature nor to the evolution of a dangerous amount of flammable gas(es) when coming into contact with water or damp air. No metals, transition metals, boron or silicon are present. Experience in handling shows that the test material is neither pyrophoric nor flammable on contact with water.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met

Description of key information

non flammable (EU A.10)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The flammability was determined with the read-across source substance WS405777.

The same result is assumed for the read-across target substance WS406663 based on the close chemical similarity between the two substances (see IUCLID Section 13 „Validity Assessment Report“ for the read-across approach).
