Description of key information

During the flammability test, when a hot flame was applied to an amount of the test substance, it was found to melt and ignite, but only burned locally and briefly (3 seconds) before the yellow flame extinguished. On this basis, the test material was not found to be highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A package of physicochemical testing, including a determination of flammability, was performed by Huntingdon Life Sciences, UK, to determine certain physicochemical properties of the test substance. The flammability determination was conducted to EEC test method A10, and in accordance with GLP.

The test substance melted and ignited, but only burned locally and briefly before the yellow flame extinguished. The test substance was not found to be highly flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

A flammability test was performed on the test substance, which was not found to be highly flammable. On the basis of this result, the test material does not require classification as flammable according to EC Directive 67/548/EEC.
