Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test temperature:
25 °C (column temperature)
Details on study design: HPLC method:
A limit test was performed as a high logKoc value was anticipated. A solution of the test material (approximately 0.3 g/l in mobile phase) was prepared and chromatographed alongside the reference substance DDT.

EQUIPMENT
- Apparatus:
- Type: Hewlett Packard 1050 Series Liquid Chromatograph
- Type, material and dimension of analytical (guard) column: HyperClone CN (CPS) (25 cm x 4.6 mm internal diameter)
- Detection system: UV set at 210 nm

MOBILE PHASES
- Type: Tetrahydrofuran:water (55:45 v/v)
- Experiments with additives carried out on separate columns: no additives used
- pH: no data
- Solutes for dissolving test and reference substances: HPLC mobile phase

DETERMINATION OF DEAD TIME
- Method: by inert substance which is not retained by the column

REFERENCE SUBSTANCES
- Identity: DDT
- Known logKoc value: 5.6

DETERMINATION OF RETENTION TIMES
- Quantity of test substance introduced in the column: 30 µg
- Quantity of reference substances: not reported
- Intervals of calibration: not reported

REPETITIONS
- Number of determinations: not reported

EVALUATION
- Determination of the log Koc value: comparison with the retention time of the reference substance DDT
Key result
Type:
log Koc
Value:
> 5.6
Temp.:
25 °C
Details on results (HPLC method):
The retention times of the main components of the test substance were greater than that of DDT under the test conditions.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
not applicable

Description of key information

Log Koc at 25 °C: > 5.6 (HPLC method; OECD TGD 121, EU Method C.19)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Log Koc at 25°C: > 5.6
