Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: ready biodegradability
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Read-across from an analogue substance for which a guideline study (Klimish 1) is available.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Read-across approach from experimental data (study according to OECD 301A) on an analogue substance.
Key result
Parameter:
% degradation (DOC removal)
Value:
4
Sampling time:
28 d
Remarks on result:
other: Based on a read-across from an analogue subtance.
Details on results:
Based on experimental results on analogue substance P0310 (4% of biodegradation in 28 days with an initial concentration of 25.1 mg/L DOC), the substance P-1057 is also considered to be not readily biodegradable. Furthermore, it is assumed that the substance P-1057 is not inhibitory to activated sludge in an estimate concentration of 102 mg/L (based on results with analogue P0310 where 55% biodegradation amounted in 13 days of exposure at concentration of 82 mg/L).
Validity criteria fulfilled:
not applicable
Interpretation of results:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
Conclusions:
Based on read-across approach from analogue substance P0310, the substance P-1057 is considered to be not readily biodegradable.
Executive summary:

Based on experimental results on analogue substance P0310 where 4% of biodegradation in 28 days with an initial concentration of 25.1 mg/L DOC was obtained in a study performed according to OECD 301A, the substance P-1057 is also considered to be not readily biodegradable. Furthermore, it is assumed that the substance P-1057 is not inhibitory to activated sludge in an estimated concentration of 102 mg/L (based on results with analogue P0310 where 55% biodegradation amounted in 13 days of exposure at concentration of 82 mg/L).

Description of key information

Key study: Based on experimental results on analogue substance P0310, the substance P-1057 was determined to be not readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Key study: Based on experimental results on analogue substance P0310 (OECD 301A and GLP), the substance P-1057 was determined to be not readily biodegradable. The substance was assumed to be not inhibitory to activated sludge in an estimate concentration of 102 mg/L.
