Description of key information

The freezing point of ISOPENTYRATE could not be determined down to – 38 °C according to the criteria of the guidelines used.
No further testing required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One GLP study was performed in order to determine the freezing temperature of the ISOPENTYRATE according to OECD 102, EU method A.1, EPA OPPTS 830.7200 (Melting Point / Melting Range) and ISO 1392 Determination of Crystallizing Point, 1977

The apparatus used was a crystallisation tube. The temperature of ISOPENTYRATE decreased continuously in the main test. Starting from room temperature the test item was cooled down to – 38 °C.

A freezing point according to the criteria of the guidelines could not be determined down to – 38 °C. No typical observation concerning a phase transition was observed; at the end of the experiment the test item was still liquid.
