Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Wash out the mouth with water. Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Remove the exposed individual to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. Seek medical attention.
Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash with soap and large amounts of water. Seek medical attention.
Eyes contact: Wash immediately with clean and gently flowing water. Continue for at least 15 minutes. Assure adequate flushing of the eyes by separating the eyelids with fingers. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide, dry powder, water spray or foam extinguishers are recommended.
By combustion it may emit toxic fumes of carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides and products of chlorine.

Wear protective equipment dedicated for fire fighting and self-contained breathing apparatus.
As the substance, when exposed to thermal irradiation or directly involved in a fire, may produce toxic fumes, if it is safe to do, remove the containers from the fire area or keep containers cool.
Damaged containers must be handled only by authorized trained personnel.
Extinguish flames at a safe distance from the containers, by using fire hoses or extinguishers automatic systems with nozzles positioned at the top of the containers.

Accidental release measures

Evacuate from affected area the personnel not involved in emergency intervention.
Alert internal emergency personnel or firefighters.
For emergency responders: Wear appropriate fire and heat-proof protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus.
Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, surface drainage systems and poorly ventilated areas.
Handle according to good working practices avoiding environmental release.
Clean-up small spills of dry solids with mechanical non-sparking tools. Avoid creating dusty
conditions and prevent wind dispersal. Place in appropriate container for waste disposal
according to law in force. Wash the residues with water preventing the entry into the sewer
system.
Do not use strong oxidizing agents for cleaning. Do not use vacuum cleaner but only manual mechanical non-sparking tools.

Handling and storage

Avoid dust formation and the dispersion into the environment.
Use local exhaust ventilation for operations with potential to generate airborne dust.
Do not expose to heat sources.
Technical measures to avoid the formation and accumulation of electrostatic charges are recommended.
Ground and bound the equipment. Work as much as possible with proper explosion relief (inertization system) to avoid the formation of potentially explosive atmospheres.
Do not eat, drink, and smoke in work areas.
Wash hands after use.
Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
Keep material in sealed properly labelled tightly closed containers in a cool, dry and wellventilated area protected from heat, sources of ignition and light.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Eye / face protection: Use full face powder mask with filter ABEK-P3
Skin protection: Use chemical resistant safety gloves
Part of the body protection: Wear Tyvek suit with hood type 4-5-6.
Specific hygiene measures: Do not drink or eat during handling. Remove the contaminated personal protective equipment after handling, wash them
thoroughly with water and take a shower.
Respiratory protection: Use full face powder mask with filter ABEK-P3

Stability and reactivity

Stable under normal conditions of use.

Disposal considerations

Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with
an afterburner and scrubber.
Dispose of waste in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
