Amides, C8-18 even numbered, N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl] build a stable emulsion with water. Therefore the surface tension was determined for a 1 g/L emulsion at 20°C according to DIN EN 14370 (replaced DIN 53914) using the Wilhelmy plate method. Bidestilled water and 1-octanol have been measured as calibration and control sample.

Therefore the surface tension was determined for a 1 g/L emulsion at 20°C according to DIN EN 14370 using the Wilhelmy plate method.The surface tension of the test material was determined to be 27.8±0.1 mN/m at 20°C.
