Additional information

The requirement to test the submission substance for n-octanol/water partition coefficient is waived because under dilute conditions in water the substance hydrolyses rapidly to form [2-(perfluorohexyl)ethyl]silanetriol and methanol. The log Kow of the submission substance and its silanol hydrolysis product have been calculated using a validated QSAR.

Methanol has a measured log Kow of -0.82 to -0.64 (OECD 2004).
