Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The analogue substance was tested for acute toxicity to fish and aquatic invertebrates and toxicity to microorganisms (NONS dossier, 1991).

In the acute toxicity test to fish the substance showed a LC50, 96h equal to 205 mg/l and for the aquatic invertebrates EC50, 24h equal to 209 mg/l.

The acute toxicity to microorganisms resulted equal to IC50, 3h > 100 mg/l.

The acute toxicity to algae is not performed while an acute toxicity to the aquatic plant Lemna is proposed on the substance itself Direct Blue 267:1. This adaptation is based on the fact the it is well known the shadowing effetc that dark dyes operates on test solutions, by producing a secondary light effect that limits the assessment of the real substance toxicity.

The substance was tested for toxicity to aquatic plants, i.e. Lemna minor, following OECD 221 (R&C Kft, 2017). Under the experimental conditions the ECr50 based on fron number > 100 mg/l.

Based on the read across considerations same ecotoxicological results apply to Direct Bue 267:1.
