The test material has been determined not to have a relative self-ignition temperature below its melting temperature.

Additional information

The relative self-ignition temperature of the test material was investigated in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.16 under GLP conditions.

The method selected was the relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids based upon the physical state of the substance at ambient conditions.

A wire mesh cube was completely filled with the test material and placed in the centre of an oven at room temperature. A thermocouple was placed in the centre of the sample and another one was placed in the oven. The oven temperature was programmed to increase from ambient to 176 °C at a rate of 0.5 °C/min. The temperature/time curves relating to the condition in the centre of the sample and the oven were recorded.

Under the conditions of this study, the test material was determined not to have a relative self-ignition temperature below its melting point.
