Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

During 28 days, the biodegradation of ITC 826 Concentrate at an initial concentration of 34mg/L (25 mg/L a. i.) was studied according to OECD guideline 301 F and C 4 -D (EC).

Inoculum used in the test was an activated sludge at a concentration of 30 mg/L obtained with domestic sample from Buckland Sewage Treatment Works (Devon).

The percentage of biodegradation was followed with 2 parameters : the Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) under ratio BOD/COD.

The corresponding percentage of biodegradation obtained after 28 days was below 25%.

Reference material (sodium acetate) validates the test since its biodegradation was greater than 60 % at 14 days.

Under the test conditions ITC 826 Concentrate is not readily biodegradable.
