Additional information

A 48 h EC50 value of 24 mg/l and NOEC of 11 mg/l (mean measured concentration) have been determined for the effects of the registered substance on mobility/mortality of Daphnia magna. Evidence of polymerisation were observed in the highest loading level (100 mg/l, nominal concentration), in the form of white particles on the water surface, but the dose response from lower levels has been attributed to monomeric silanol. In view of the test media preparation method/exposure regime it is likely that the test organisms, at around the EC50 value concentrations, were exposed predominantly to the tested substance.
