The test substance is not readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria (45 % degradation after 28 d). Moreover, investigations on the abiotic hydrolysis did not provide any evidence of fast hydrolysis at environmentally relevant conditions (25 °C, pH 7). Diethanolamine and Bisphenol A are known to be hydrolytically stable at pH 4, 7 and 9. Mannich Base 2 showed the fastest hydrolysis of all constituents at pH 7 and pH 9 at 50 °C (DT50: 14.1 h and 8.6 h, respectively) whereas the DT50 values are > 100 h at 25 °C for pH 7 and pH 9.
All constituents of the test substance are not expected to adsorb to organic soil and sediment particles (log Koc: -0.7323 – 2.6416, average: 1.869). Thus, if released into the environment the substance is expected to mainly partition to the water compartment. Volatilisation and the subsequent transport to other environmental compartments is not expected based on the low vapour pressure (0.0384 Pa at 20 °C).
Bioaccumulation in biota is of no concern based on the low log Kow of < 3.
