Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

ErC50 (72h) of 65.5 mg/L and NOErC (72 h) of 26.5 mg/L was determined for Desmodesmus subspicatus (OECD 201).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
65.5 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
26.5 mg/L

Additional information

In a study according to test guideline OECD 201 in compliance with GLP conditions, the toxicity of the test substance on freshwater green algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) was investigated. The effects on the growth rate and yield were observed over a period of 72 hours. The concentrations of the test item were analytically measured at the start and at the end of the test and between 101 % and 115% of the test item were detected. Therefore, the effect levels are based on the nominal concentrations of the test item. Based on the growth rate, the effect level (EC50, 72 h) was determined to 65.5 mg/L and the NOEC (72h) was calculated to be 26.5 mg/L.
