Description of key information

The substance is included in the list of harmonised classification and labelling and it is classified as Hazardous for the Aquatic Environment, Chronic Category 2.

Additional information

The results from the aquatic toxicity studies are as follow:

Short-term toxicity to fish: Key study: The LC 50 > 100 mg/L after 96 h.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: Key study: The EC50 is 86 mg/L after 48 h.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria: Key study: The EC50 (based on biomass) is 4.6 mg/L after 72 h.

Based on the results from the aquatic toxicity (at least one value between 1 and 10 mg/L) and since the substance is not readily biodegradable the substance is classified to the CLP Regulation 1272/2008 as Chronic Category 2.
