Description of key information

The acute toxicity of silatrizole on the mobility of Daphnia magna was investigated in a GLP-compliant 48-hour limit test conducted in accordance with EU Method C.2 and OECD Guideline 202. The only concentration tested was the undiluted filtrate of a supersaturated stock suspension prepared at a nominal loading rate of 100 mg test substance/l. The 48-hour LOEC and the 48-hour LC50 could not be quantified since no toxic effect was observed up to the water solubility limit of the test substance in the used test water. The 48-hour NOEC and the 48-hour LC0 were determined to be at least 0.16 mg test substance/l, identified as the mean measured concentration of silatrizole at saturation in the used test water.
