Description of key information

The acute toxicity of silatrizole on the survival rate of zebra fish was investigated in a GLP-compliant 96-hour limit test conducted in accordance with EU Method C.1 and OECD Guideline 203. The only concentration tested was the undiluted filtrate of a supersaturated stock suspension prepared at a nominal loading rate of 100 mg test substance/l. The 96-hour LOEC and the 96-hour LC50 could not be quantified since no toxic effect was observed up to the water solubility limit of the test substance in the used test water. The 96-hour NOEC and the 96-hour LC0 were determined to be at least 0.14 mg test substance/l, identified as the mean measured concentration of silatrizole at saturation in the used test water.
